Tulsa’s First Dog Park Opens
An old baseball field has been transformed into Tulsa’s first dog park, the Joe Station Bark Park. It opened this past Saturday morning in the 22-hundred block of Charles Page Boulevard. There are two areas – one for small dogs and another for large dogs. It’s fenced in, has restrooms, water pails and lighting for evening romps. Paid for by donations, the admission is free. City leaders hope to have more parks in the future. They’re looking at two spots, one at 13th and Cincinnati and another at Hicks Park.
They’re having meetings on the proposed sites and are looking for public input. The meeting for the park at 13th and Cincinnati is August 12th at 7 p.m. at All Souls Unitarian Church at 2752 S. Peoria. The meeting to discuss the Hicks Park site is on August 14th at 7 p.m. at Hicks Community Center at 3443 Mingo Road.
