Thanks to a generous grant from Apache Foundation, Up With Trees is offering free tree saplings for non-profits and faith-based organizations that would like to plant trees on their property. The trees will be delivered and can be picked up from a holding facility starting April 9th. There are several thousand available and they will have approximately 8 different species, flowering ones like the beautiful Cleveland select pear, as well as shade trees, like the stately bald cypress. These trees are a good size — most are 4-6 feet tall.

Trees are available on a first-come, first-served to non-profits, government agencies and faith-based groups (including private schools, neighborhood associations and churches) that wish to plant them on their facility’s property as long as the organization commits to maintaining the trees. If necessary, they can provide a short session on how to plant and care for trees. The groups are responsible for the planting, although they can support the effort by lending tools, etc., if needed. Those interested should make arrangements to pick up and plant as soon as possible – you probably can even pick up on the 9th as they are being unloaded. It would be best to get these trees in the ground by the end of April.

Pickup Location
Public Service Company of Oklahoma, 3600 W. Elwood, Tulsa (PSO has kindly donated space to temporarily house the trees). Easiest way to get there is to turn east on 41st St. W. (exiting off of highway 75) then turn north on Elwood to 36th street – trees will be located just east of Elwood & 36th.
