State Questions on November Ballot
There are other decisions to make on the November 4 ballot besides the presidency. Here are several state questions you may not know about.
The first proposal would exempt disabled veterans from property taxes. Another proposal would require a person or business to file for property tax exemptions.
A third item secures an Oklahoman’s right to hunt, trap and fish.
The fourth involves the sale of wine from local vineyards. There are dozens of wineries in the state. Under current law, they have to go through a distributor to get their wine sold in liquor stores.
State question 743 would allow small wineries to sell directly to the stores and cut out the middle man. The benefit for consumers is that there would be more availability and possibly lower prices.
Another issue on the ballot deals with hunting. By voting yes on state question 742, no laws will be changed. It simply strengthens a person’s right to hunt, in case that right is later challenged.
