Tulsa on Forbes List
Tulsa made the number 5 ranking on Forbes’ list of America’s Most Livable Cities. The story ran on Yahoo’s homepage this morning. Portland, Maine made the number 1 position.
To form the list, they looked at quality of life measures in the nation’s largest continental U.S. metropolitan statistical areas. They eliminated areas with populations smaller than 500,000 and assigned points using five areas of criteria: Five-year income growth per household and cost of living from Moody’s Economy.com, crime data and leisure index from Sperling’s Best Places, and annual unemployment statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Recently, Tulsa ranked 47th Forbes’ list of Best Places for Businesses and Careers [ Via KJRH ]. Forbes ranked 200 metropolitan areas on criteria including cost of doing business, projected job growth and education. Tulsa is No. 47 and ranks 53rd in cost of doing business, 30th in projected job growth and 128th in education.
