Fun Things to Do in Broken Arrow

If you live in the Broken Arrow area, there is quite a bit to do but few may know where to look. Here is a list of some of the fun things you can do in BA.

SAFARI’S ANIMAL SANCTUARY Broken Arrow’s best kept secret is the Safari Wildlife Sanctuary in far east Broken Arrow.  Established in 1995 to rescue wildlife, the park is open to visitors for an up-close view of exotic cats, wolves, bears, primates, birds, reptiles and other cute critters.

BASS PRO SHOP There are many lakes and rivers in and around Broken Arrow, so it is only fitting that Bass Pro is right here in our own backyard.  Bass Pro Shops should definitely be on your list of places to visit.  Islamorada Fish Company Restaurant is located inside.

MAIN STREET MERCHANTS The pulse of the city is often found on Main Street.  Main Street merchants offer a broad range of products and services, including antiques and restaurants, all within several blocks of Main Street. Out of the shops, one of our personal favorites is the Hitching Post on the corner of 91st and Main.

NIENHUIS PARK AND SKATEPARK This 109 acre site features a Community Center, and a Youth Football Complex. A pond on the southeast corner of the park is stocked with blue gill and catfish and available for fishing. There’s also a memorial rose garden. The Skate Park is one of the most popular recreation spots in Broken Arrow.  The concrete skate park, is open from dawn to dusk, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  The park consists of a large bowl, a street scene area and several walls and ramps to test your ability.  Skateboards, bicycles, scooters and roller skates are all welcome to use the facility.

BLUE BELL CREAMERIES For a fascinating look at how ice cream is made and packaged, Blue Bell offers tours for families and groups. I’ve personally been on a tour and it’s a lot of fun to see the process, plus you get a free ice cream sandwich!

BROKEN ARROW HISTORICAL MUSEUM Broken Arrow is proud of its history and they want to share it with you.  The Historical Society has acquired a unique collection that is definitely worth the visit.  The museum holds artifacts from the early years when Creek Indians first resided here in the early 1800s.
